Our Mission
Parachute Brooklyn is a children’s resale shop dedicated to fighting textile waste. We offer stylish, affordable secondhand clothes, helping families make more sustainable choices. By keeping clothing in circulation and out of landfills, we reduce waste and raise awareness about the impact of overconsumption. Our goal is to spark awareness and instill values of responsible consumerism in kids—showing them that their choices matter and empowering them to express their unique style while caring for the planet.

A New Way to Hand-Me-Down
viewParachute Brooklyn is a secondhand children’s clothing store in the Greenpoint neighborhood of Brooklyn. Competing with the myriad online secondhand resources is “tricky,” Ms. Boonparn said. “But I think it’s cool to have a space where customers can come in and see the items, and feel them, and try them on.”

How To Shop Kids Vintage & Secondhand
view“Fast fashion prices can be tempting, but shopping secondhand is just as affordable – and far more sustainable. The fashion industry produces around 92 million tons of textile waste each year, much of it from fast fashion. With so many kids’ clothes already in circulation, there’s no need to buy new.”

Score some gently-used and adorable duds
viewSure, you should splurge on a super adorable ensemble from a spot like Jacadi or Livly or Two Kids and a Dog. But be prepared for your child to wear it for about half a minute. Then head to a spot for secondhand scores also barely worn at spots like Parachute Brooklyn
