Parachute Brooklyn is a secondhand children’s clothing store in the Greenpoint neighborhood of Brooklyn. Competing with the myriad online secondhand resources is “tricky,” Ms. Boonparn said. “But I think it’s cool to have a space where customers can come in and see the items, and feel them, and try them on.”

“Fast fashion prices can be tempting, but shopping secondhand is just as affordable – and far more sustainable. The fashion industry produces around 92 million tons of textile waste each year, much of it from fast fashion. With so many kids’ clothes already in circulation, there’s no need to buy new.”
